we’re going down – Dom Kent’s song to my daughter Chloe
Awwwwwwwwww!!!! what can I say?! HOW romantic. My gorgeous daughter Chloe woke up this morning, turned on her computer then ran downstairs and flung herself on my bed in pile of teenage hormones with the biggest smile I’ve seen on her face in I don’t know how long.
Her boyfriend Dom Kent wrote and performed this song, “we’re going down”, with some assistance on the riff by his mate Josh. What’s funny is that Chloe’s cousin Phoebe must have badgered him into putting some photos together to make the video to go with it too, judging by the ‘cheesy’ comment at the end.
Enjoy and pass this along to anyone who may want to remember with that special warmth, their own teenage romance…
(Yes it reminded me of a high school boyfriend of mine.. the lovely Stuart Bungard who dedicated a song to me on Valentine Day when his band performed in the drama room at Durrington High School oooh back in ummm 1984 or 1985 but shhhh!)

What a lovely video! Several lessons here that teens can teach us ‘oldies’
1. Living in the moment.Capturing it,enjoying it,indulging in it. As older adults we often live too much in the future “what if …..”
2. Who says men don’t have heart and soul? Put your Mars-Venus books on the shelf and just “be” who you are and express what you want to express – forget about what planet you are supposed to be from.
3. Nourish a relationship. We invest is cars, properties, stocks, our careers but somehow we don’t think about investing in our relationships. This video was an investment of time and thoughtfulness. What you water will grow.
4. Dom should be setting up a business where he writes songs specifically for individuas, takes their photos and creates such videos that they can give their loved ones on Valentines,Birthdays, Anniversarys. Callit: Spread The Love?
Nice to see the happy side of love!

yeah… I agree. What happened along the way that we buried that ability to feel so strongly and decide to just bare ourselves anyway. Why do I find it so hard to feel what I’m feeling, let alone say it.. that’s a whole other ball game *lol* This definitely restored my faith that there is romance and poked me into thinking, that maybe, I just need to open myself to it…
